More about your role   

As our Fire Risk Assessor, you will identify fire hazards and assess risks related to health, safety, and compliance within buildings. You’ll provide timely, clear reports on performance against safety KPIs, highlighting issues, trends, and progress on remedial actions. You’ll offer fire safety advice and collaborate with fire services, facilities managers, surveyors, and other stakeholders to develop and update fire safety plans. You’ll support special projects to help stakeholders meet compliance and adapt to legislative changes. Through audits and site visits, you’ll drive continuous improvement by evaluating current practices, recommending changes, and leading their implementation. You’ll also investigate accidents to ensure safety standards are maintained. 

You will be covering Edinburgh and surrounding areas including Newcastle.  

 

Essential Criteria   

  • Recognised fire safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFE Level 3/4). 
  • Proven experience conducting FRAs in both England and Scotland. 
  • Strong understanding of current fire safety legislation and standards. 
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel this will include overnight stays on occasion. 

 

More About you   

You bring experience in fire safety and health and safety, with solid knowledge of current fire safety and building regulations. You’ve carried out fire risk assessments and hold qualifications like NEBOSH Fire Safety or equivalent. Your technical expertise in the fire risk industry is extensive. Ideally, you’re a member of professional bodies such as IOSH, IFE, or IFSM at Technical Member level or above, have a good understanding of health and safety procedures, and familiarity with the social housing sector.
