Are you a qualified and experienced financial professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role? We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our dynamic organisation to play a pivotal role in driving financial success and supporting strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards.
- Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, analysis, and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts to aid in strategic planning.
- Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure financial stability.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring effective credit control and timely payments.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, including tax obligations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the small finance team, using monthly 1-2-1’s and annual
- performance and target reviews.
- Provide the management team with financial analytics and produce justification plans for capex purchases.
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting skills with a thorough understanding of UK GAAP. A knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley controls would be a distinct advantage.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar financial control role within the professional services industry.
- Proven track record of managing a finance team and delivering high-quality financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and work within a high- performing team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and attention to detail.
