126Job Description:At WorkLyf Group, we are hiring a Financial Controller based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme for our client in the Automotive industry.
About the role
The Financial Controller will report directly to the directors and play a key role in the senior leadership team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial strategies and controls.
About the Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
* Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
* Develop and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
* Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the audit process.
* Develop, maintain and update internal control procedures.
Cash Flow Management:
* Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow.
* Develop cash management strategies to optimize financial resources.
Taxation:
* Oversee tax planning and compliance activities.
* Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary.
Team Leadership and Development:
* Supervise and mentor the finance team.
* Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Strategic Planning:
* Contribute to the financial strategic planning of the organization.
* Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
Process Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and the broader business.
* Implement best practices in financial management.
About You
You should have:
o A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or alternatively be Qualified by Experience
o 3 -5 years experience in financial management in a similar role
o Strong business acumen.
o Good knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
o Proficiency using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
