A GCSE Business Examiner will evaluate candidates' responses according to a specific mark scheme while following examination protocols. Most assessments will be marked onscreen via ePEN, although some subjects will still utilise traditional paper scripts. Examiners must possess substantial subject knowledge and will be allocated a predetermined number of scripts. For the Summer 2024 exams, there are limited contracts available for Business, with additional opportunities in Economics. Applicants should have relevant teaching experience and a related degree. The marking period runs from May to July, with training scheduled for May and June. Pearson, a leading educational organisation, offers remote working options.
A GCSE Business (2017 specification) Examiner will mark candidates’ responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, whilst adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures.
Most subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN, which can be done from home.
A few subjects are still marked in the traditional method, using paper scripts sent through the post.
A high level of subject knowledge is necessary in order to apply the mark scheme.
