Job description
This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week Monday – Friday or part-time
with a minimum coverage of 30 hours
Flexible or compressed working hours available
Opportunity to work from home (typically 1 day a week on average)
Shaping the future of the engineering specialists at the heart of UK National
Security
You will join a team of systems thinkers and problem solvers working with leaders at
all levels in a fascinating national security technology & engineering organisation.
You’ll support both creation of strategy and its implementation by identifying
challenges the organisation faces, how it should engage with them, and then
applying the right amount of architectural control over the organisation as those
choices are implemented. You will help our leaders to get the balance right between
rigour and pace, so that HMGCC continues to provide the astonishing diversity of
operational technology that the UK’s most iconic national security organisations need
to keep the country safe and prosperous. This comes at a time when HMGCC is
changing to embrace more open ways of working with industry, academia, and wider
government, so that it achieves a step change increase in how much of its delivery is
through working with others. If organisational strategy and/or architecture is your
thing, and you care about doing something that genuinely makes a difference, it
doesn’t get much better than this.
More About You
To apply for this role, you will already have:
Experience in working effectively with and influencing others in the absence of direct
hierarchical authority or mandate, such as can arise when working across
organisational teams or across organisational boundaries, and where there are
significant differences in perspectives and understanding.
Experience in working effectively in contexts where both the situation at hand and
how to deal with it are unclear and/or not well understood by stakeholders.
Experience in applying systems thinking approaches, particularly in an
organisational context.
Experience of working at Practitioner level across the eight Government recognised
Enterprise Architect skills predominantly in the context of business architecture.

decision making.
Seeks out opportunities for experimentation, and positively engages in feedback,
learning, change, and improvement.
Putting your skills to use
Using your diverse range of skills within the Strategy Development & EA team, you
will:
