The ideal candidate will have…

  • At least a 2:2 bachelor’s degree in English Language, Literature, or a related subject.
  • A passion for the English field.
  • An aspiration of pursuing a career in teaching.
  • Dedication to the learning and wellbeing of students aged 11-16.
  • Commitment to following safeguarding procedures to keep young people safe.
  • Previous experience of working alongside students, or in a school setting.

 
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be assisting teaching staff in the planning and delivering of engaging English lessons. You will assess students’ classwork and provide constructive feedback, as well as 1:1 and small group interventions. It is essential that you build strong bonds with students and staff at this school to create a positive learning environment. To do this, you will help staff in the running of extracurricular activities and enthusiastically partake in activities with the wider school community.
 
This large, Wolverhampton-based secondary school is situated less than a 10-minute drive from the M54 and has fast connections to locations across Birmingham. Public transport links to this school are fantastic, with multiple bus routes that can drop you less than a 5-minute walk from the school gates.
