Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Contract: Permanent – flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know
What will you be responsible for?
As an Engineer, you’ll be working within the Network Intelligence Operating Centre team, supporting them in administering / supervising the traffic signal maintenance contract and coordinating maintenance and new infrastructure installation with third parties.
Your day to day will include:
- Troubleshooting and undertaking electronic diagnostic checks on traffic signal & ITS assets, monitoring of fault management systems (FMS), Urban Traffic Control (UTC) and Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS), system manager for the traffic control systems
- Responding quickly to faults and incidents, coordinating communications between colleagues, partners and stakeholders and providing accurate and timely information, taking appropriate action to deal with any incident that impacts the flow of traffic
- Supervision of teams on site and undertaking site acceptance testing
- Administering the traffic signal maintenance contract ensuring that key business targets and KPI’s are met and wherever possible exceeded, providing support to capital schemes and major projects
- Complying to Kier’s Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements and standards along with the safety at street works & road works code of practice and the New roads and Streetworks Act
What are we looking for?
This role of Engineer is great for you if:
- Qualified in an electronic / electrical discipline or have significant practical experience
- SSSTS or SMSTS certified, previous technical experience with ITS & traffic signal assets
- Hold planning and organisational skills, problem solving abilities, are self-motivated and proactive in delivering solutions
