We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join and help lead our newly opened nursery in Hemel Hempstead. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and motivated individual who is ready to take the next step in their childcare career and play a key role in shaping the future of a growing setting.

About the Role:

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality care and education for all children. You’ll be responsible for managing and mentoring staff, maintaining compliance with EYFS standards, and helping create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Manager in daily operations and leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and manage staff, including rota planning and performance reviews

  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed

  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers

  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum

  • Step up as Manager when required

Requirements:

  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a nursery or childcare setting

  • Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted regulations

  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills

  • Ideally based locally to Hemel Hempstead or surrounding areas
