– 6th June 2024About the role As an experienced Cyber Security Design professional you’ll fulfil a leading role in comprehensive cyber advisory and consultancy in relation to security design processes across Drax’s CNI Technology and Data projects. You’ll use your experience to work in line with NCSC guidance and industry best-practice design patterns to ensure robust, well-designed solutions, directing and ensuring all digital change globally across the group is delivered to reduce risk and maximise cyber resilience. Engaging with stakeholders at technical and senior management level, you’ll oversee Drax projects in the secure architecture of new systems, ensuring all projects are delivered within the business’s agreed risk appetite and balancing cost to serve with the needs of security and safety of the organisation.The Cyber Technology Team is part of the Security Architecture and Programme Delivery Group and is responsible for monitoring, managing and assessing risks from threat intelligence feeds that could impact on the Drax Group business, across both IT and Operational Technology environments.
This includes both local and national threats from protestor groups to State sponsored espionage.
You’ll lead a small team of technical specialists that provide support to the IT teams in helping to identify emerging threats, conducing analysis and specifying how best to mitigate the associated risks.
Providing authoritative advice and guidance on the application and operation of all types of security controls.The role has a broad scope covering the identity and access management, security monitoring and remediation, secure system and network designs, zero-trust, data centre and cloud deployments, with designs for enhanced security, resilience and high availability.About you You’ll have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within cyber security, covering product management, analysis and risk mitigation.
You’ll also have a detailed and proven understanding of modern network, system and application architectures and associated security controls within highly complex environments.
A passion for Cyber Security is also a must in this role!Excellent analytical skills and good understanding of network security technologies and processes are essential in this role, this will include an understanding of current and emerging security threats and an awareness of systems and methods to counter them.
You’ll possess a strategic and creative mindset, alongside being able to structure insights and evidence into a compelling narrative for how to realise business opportunities or overcome business challenges, and ability to innovate and instigate new ideas.
You’ll be adept at making compelling arguments and leading teams on effective decision making, explaining clearly how decisions have been reached and the ability to understand, and resolve technical disputes across varying levels of complexity and risk.
You’ll be a natural networking and be able to develop and maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
