About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Contraception Specialist Nurse to join our friendly primary care team for 1 day per week. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive contraception services to our diverse patient population, ensuring access to high-quality, patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
* Fitting and removal of intrauterine devices (IUD/IUS) and contraceptive implants.
* Providing contraception counselling and advice tailored to individual patient needs.
* Supporting patients in making informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
* Conducting follow-up appointments and managing any complications or concerns related to contraceptive methods.
* Maintaining accurate and thorough clinical records in line with best practices.
* Collaborating with the wider healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
What We’re Looking For
* Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Registered Nurse (NMC Registered).
* Accredited training and competence in coil fitting/removal and contraceptive implant procedures.
* Experience providing contraception and sexual health services in a primary care, community, or similar setting.
* Desirable Attributes:
* Friendly, approachable, and patient-focused with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
* A commitment to continuous professional development.
