Overview
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Commercial Refrigeration Engineer. We are seeking a skilled Commercial Refrigeration Engineer to service, maintain, and repair refrigeration units in commercial kitchens. You’ll work with a variety of equipment-walk-in coolers, freezers, display units-ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of refrigerator regulations, and a commitment to client satisfaction are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Maintenance: Routine maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems (coolers, freezers, ice machines) for efficiency and reliability.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve faults using technical expertise and diagnostic tools.
Repairs & Part Replacement: Replace faulty components (compressors, condensers, evaporators) following safety protocols.
Preventive Maintenance: Implement schedules to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work meets health, safety, and refrigerant regulations (F-Gas, EPA).
Emergency Support: Respond promptly to urgent service calls to minimise downtime.
Client Communication: Provide clear updates, recommendations, and operational guidance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate service reports and inventory records.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and kitchen staff to minimise disruption.
Qualifications
F-Gas Category 1 Certification (essential)
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (preferred)
2-3 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration (required)
Basic electrical knowledge (18th Edition advantageous)
Health & Safety certification (CSCS card preferred)
Full UK driving licence (required)
Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £38,000.00-£38,001.00 per year
