71Job Description:CK Group are recruiting for a Chemist to join a chemicals manufacturing company at their site based in near Harrogate, on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client is a leader in specialty materials operating in a number of countries worldwide. Their designed materials and innovations are used in daily life: vehicles, cosmetics, aeronautics, packaging, electrics and sporting goods.The company offers a salary in the region of £28,000 to £34,000 pa depending on experience as well as a range of benefits.

Location:

The Chemist will be based at the company’s site near Harrogate and is commutable from surrounding areas including Knaresborough, Leeds, York, Wetherby, Tadcaster.

Chemist Role:

Your main duties will be:

• Execution of planned projects within the R&D programme, setting timelines, delivering, and reporting results in a timely manner.
• Process scale-up and transfer from R&D to manufacturing operations, both internal and external.
• Developing and evaluating new synthetic chemistry procedures and manufacturing processes.
• Running routine analytical tests.
• Providing support for internal and external manufacturing operations.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to degree level in Chemistry / Science / Materials or related field.
• Experience of Organic Synthesis.
• Working knowledge of organic chemistry.
