Category Manager (Procurement)

It’s an exciting time to join our Procurement team as we are currently expanding to support the business for the next phase of our investment plan for AMP8.

As part of this expansion, we are looking for Category Managers, who have experience working within regulated procurement.

What you’ll do

As a Category Manager, you will enjoy working with your stakeholders to identify the best way to deliver value. You will work with the business to influence spend, understand the market and supply base for your categories and develop innovative sourcing opportunities.

Working at an experienced level, you will ensure that all procurement activity within your area adheres to the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 and that agreements are designed and implemented to deliver best value to the company.

You will manage the tender process, from identifying potential suppliers through selection to the award, implementation and management of the agreement or contract.

What you’ll need

You will have procurement category experience within one or more of the following areas:

• construction works and related services (familiar with NEC Contracts)

• utility technologies

• goods and services (M&E, chemicals, construction or similar).

In addition, you will ideally have:

• an understanding of Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016, or experience working with

similar Framework Agreements in the Public Sector, Defence, Highways, Rail or

Nuclear industries

• tendering and framework management experience

• excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• the ability to operate both independently, as well as working collaboratively as part of a team

• strong commercial and negotiation skills

• MCIPS or equivalent

• working knowledge of eSourcing systems.
