60Job Description:Role Purpose 

• Responsible for being part of a multi-disciplined works team within the housing repairs, responsible for delivering specialist carpentry and joinery services throughout the borough, ensuring health and safety compliance and best practice.  To work in a professional and flexible manner and carry out work in accordance with latest regulations.

Responsibilities 

• Overhaul, ease and adjust, and renew, if necessary, doors and door frames complete (including door stops and architrave). 
• Carry out pre inspection to doors, identify and provide door data and measurements. 
• Use fire rated materials correctly in accordance with manufacturers recommendation to ensure products are effective. 
• Overhaul and repair all timber, Upvc and metal windows and renew as necessary
• To carry out all types of repairs & maintenance works both internally and externally when required, including fencing, decorating, small maintenance tasks, demolition and alteration works and remedial works to complete projects to the customer or client satisfaction as directed by your line manager or other nominated designate. 
• Undertake associated duties as agreed in the flexible working agreement to contribute to groups ‘one job one visit’ objective. 

Requirements 

• Must have experience working with councils / housing associations 
• Relevant carpentry qualification NVQ2 or city in guilds, and / or membership of a professional body in your specific trade (desirable)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in delivering first and second fix carpentry within a responsive repairs environment in a comparable organisation including delivering services in a customer-focused environment setting. 
• Experience of delivering a wide range of carpentry and joinery services

Contract 

• The rate for this position is £29 an hour Umbrella equivalent to £217.50 a day 
• Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm 
• Initial 3 month contract with the opportunity to extend
