Ready to join a team that puts people first, both residents and colleagues? We’re seeking passionate individuals to join our client a lovely care home based in Cheshire.

As a nurse working for a care home, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to residents. You will work as a member of the nursing team, carrying out all relevant forms of care in conjunction with other nurse practitioners. Ensuring that care services are consistently provided to a high-quality standard, ensuring the personal care needs of residents are met while respecting the dignity of the individual and promoting independence. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and health of the elderly or individuals with various medical conditions who reside in the care home. We will be carrying out supervisions as part of your job role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report any ill-health amongst residents and make requests for GP/professional visits where necessary.
  • Ensure that residents’ care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, relatives, and other health care professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines and association policy.
  • Assess all aspects of residents’ care needs, and provide health supervision and direct nursing care when required.
  • Assess social and health care needs of new residents, and maintain ongoing assessment and review of all other residents.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that each resident within the Home has an individualised care plan.
  • Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all relevant staff members at the end of each shift.
  • Support new staff members in all aspects of their work in the home, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
  • Act as a mentor to new staff and less experienced members of staff, providing relevant training/coaching, and communication.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, including medication administration and wound care.
  • Ability to empathise and communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in caring for older adults.
