As a nurse in our care home, you’ll provide high-quality nursing care to residents, working alongside a team of dedicated nurse practitioners. Your primary responsibility is ensuring the well-being and health of elderly residents or individuals with various medical conditions. Supervisions are a part of your role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as part of an efficient team, contributing to the smooth running of the home.
- Accurately assess the needs of residents and identify priorities of care.
- Report any ill-health amongst residents and request GP/professional visits as necessary.
- Ensure residents’ care plans are completed and maintained, involving residents, relatives, and other health care professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure each resident has an individualised care plan.
- Ensure clear and concise handover reports at the end of each shift.
- Assist in the delivery of care for residents with terminal or progressive illnesses.
- Carry out regular checks on residents to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
- Ensure the provision of a high standard of nursing and social care.
- Support new staff members in all aspects of their work, offering help and guidance where appropriate.
- Act as a mentor to new and less experienced staff, providing relevant training and coaching.
- Maintain good relationships and an empathetic, professional approach to residents and relatives.
- Communicate effectively with residents, partners, stakeholders, and other relevant bodies.
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, including medication administration and wound care.
- Ability to empathise and communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in caring for older adults.
