Bilton Hall, a historic care home in Harrogate, is seeking an experienced Home Manager to lead its team and ensure residents receive excellent person-centred care. The role involves overseeing all aspects of home management, from staff supervision to care planning, while upholding the company’s values of family, honesty, and respect. The position offers a competitive salary of £60,000, along with various benefits, and requires a minimum of five years’ experience in care home management.

This 60-bedded home is situated in one of the oldest buildings in Harrogate and is set within seven acres of landscaped gardens with extensive lawns, flower beds and mature trees with panoramic views over Knaresborough. This Jacobean former manor house has up-to-date facilities for 60 residents, with all rooms having private en-suite facilities and there are beautiful lounges and dining rooms giving residents choices.
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced *Home Manager* to lead our team. Naturally, it is important you share our Company Values of Family, Honesty and Respect. *Job Overview*
You will take responsibility of the care and wellbeing of our residents which includes making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met but also leading, motivating and mentoring your team of Nurses and Carers whilst delivering clinical guidance and coaching. Providing strong leadership will ensure smooth, safe and efficient running of the care home. Being able to promote all our residents’ independence, dignity and choice is an extremely important to us and this will come naturally to you. Maintaining accurate records is very important and you will have an eye for detail to enable if any problems arise you are well equipped and ready to deal with this. You will have a strong professional judgement and will be able to make critical decisions.
*Responsibilities and Duties of the Job*
* To provide leadership to the administration, care, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and people management functions of the home
* To carry out, and provide leadership in marketing the service, and selling its services at the agreed prices
* To maintain the operations of the home at the standard agreed with the Registered Provider, within the financial budget or other parameters set by the Provider
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
* Ensure Service Users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
* Undertake the Care Planning activities for Service Users to meet changing physical, psychological and social needs, taking into consideration privacy, dignity, personal choice, and informed consent.
* Ensure Care Plans are developed in collaboration with Service Users, their family, and friends (where appropriate) and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional, and regulatory requirements.
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
* Induct new starters
* Conduct staff supervision and annual staff appraisals for all heads of department
* Develop staff to full potential ensuring succession planning
* Ensure multidisciplinary team working is embedded in the service
* Act as a mentor to others and help to build strong team relationships.
* Update and monitor care plans, reviewing them as and when required
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals
* To provide care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time
