Our client is a successful subcontract engineering business providing precision machined components across a wide range of sectors. They are currently looking to strengthen their team with the recruitment of a Business Development Manager to be based in at their site in the North East.
The Business Development Manager role promises an engaging work environment where you can develop strong relationships with a range of industry partners across the North East. As a BD Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth by identifying new markets, nurturing client relationships, and securing profitable contracts.
The Role of the Business Development Manager
The BDM will be responsible for strategically sourcing, developing and tactically executing a continuous pipeline of new business opportunities, engaging with key stakeholders to win opportunities that will contribute to the long-term growth and profitability of the Company.
Other responsibilities include:

Source, analyse and qualify a strategic pipeline of new and profitable business opportunities

Prepare and manage a sales budget, and forecast, track and report on KPI targets pipeline

Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.

Quickly and effectively uncover customer requirements, applying a consultative approach to examine customer needs and goals as well as business risks and potentials in order to reach a mutually beneficial solution.

Keep ahead of the competition by constantly monitoring industry and competitor trends and developments, bringing fresh ideas forward for new business opportunities

Working with internal and external key stakeholders to resolve customer issues whilst championing a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
To be successful in the BDM role, you will ideally have a proven background in precision engineering, or a similar engineering industry, coupled with a proven track record in sales or business development.
Other requirements include:

Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and technical specifications.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strong commercial acumen with contractual exposure.
