The UHB pharmacy department in collaboration with Women’s and Childrens services are excited to announce the opportunity to apply for an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist role at UHB. We are seeking a pharmacist experienced with Paediatrics, Neonates and/or Maternity services who wishes to expand their role or wishes to move to a Tertiary hospital setting.
This new role will work across the Trust, supported by two Specialist Pharmacists in Paediatrics and Neonates, two Senior Support Pharmacists, a clinical support rotational pharmacist and a Specialist Clinical Pharmacy Technician and will provide a strategic lead to the service.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
This role will require strategic leadership and management responsibility for the ongoing development and sustainability of a high quality, innovative clinical service to support the Women’s and Childrens service provision across the UHB sites.
The role will suit an individual with a proven track record of delivering advanced care service within pharmacy in the healthcare setting. Someone who is an expert in Paediatric and Neonates medicine, keen to adopt novel approaches and be recognised nationally through input beyond the organisation to local (with other Trusts and relevant regional networks) and national strategic levels.
The Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Women’s and Childrens services will have overall responsibility for managing, leading, risk management, medicines optimisation monitoring and clinical audit.
The role’s strategic aims will include:
*To identify, prioritise and contribute to the development of innovative services within the Trust and manage the change process required to achieve them.
*To ensure that issues concerning pharmaceutical care are appropriately presented to the speciality and produce business plans to advance the service.
*To drive pharmacy research opportunities as an expert in the speciality.
*To support the delivery of a robust education programme relating to pharmaceutical aspects of Paediatric and Neonatal Medicine for all Trust staff both clinical and non-clinical.

Qualifications
Essential
* BSc, BPharm, MPharm or equivalent in pharmacy
* Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy practice or other post-graduate qualification/experience
* Leadership/management qualification or equivalent experience
* Member of The General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable
* Motivated to words towards consultant credentialing with the RPS
* Independent prescriber or desire to work towards this qualification following appointment
Experience
Essential
* Significant experience as a clinical pharmacy practitioner in an acute hospital pharmacy setting within the field of Women’s and Children’s services.
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrable experience of managing staff
* Ability to manage budgets and deliver on cost improvement programmes
* Demonstrable experience in supporting Paediatrics, neonates and women’s services.
* Demonstrable experience in training and education
* Identify and implement best practice
* Detailed understanding of the speciality and medicines use in paediatrics, neonates and obstetrics.
* Understanding and implementation of national and local priorities
* Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the Clinical Governance Agenda

* Ability to cope with frequent interruptions where the job holder has to change from one activity to another at the response of a third party
* Ability to deal with frequent interruptions.
* Proven ability to work to deadlines and time management without supervision.
* Willingness to travel across all sites as required by the job role.
* Participation in 7 day week rota including bank holidays and weekend and on-call rota
