We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven individual to join our busy team in Chief Medical Officer services. In this role no two days are the same, as we support many work streams of the Chief Medical Officer’s portfolio. This post is an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to take the next step in their career. The post holder will be required to manage their own workload with minimal supervision, have excellent written, verbal, communication skills and an exceptional eye for detail. They will also need to have excellent computer software skills and the ability to learn new software packages easily.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
*To ensure the correct recording of information required for the Responsible Officer (RO) to recommend a doctor’s revalidation.
* To maintain current and accurate knowledge of the GMC and other requirements associated with the revalidation of medical staff.
* To provide administrative support to Deputy Head of CMO Services.
* Record and prioritise all incoming project work on a daily basis, by all incoming routes, including responding quickly and appropriately to urgent or important issues and queries.
* To attend meetings, take minutes, to produce and circulate minutes, following up on action points agreed during the meetings.
* Responsible for managing post/emails to the CMO services inboxes. Taking action as appropriate and using own initiative, prior to referring to the team to ensure appropriate and timely action is taken.
* Responsible for all project administration and recording systems and documentation, including appropriate version control, ensuring that they are readily available for use by the team and for audit purposes.
* Responsible for producing ad-hoc activity reports on behalf of the Deputy Head of Chief Medical Officer’s Services for managers and consultants.
* To support the team’s responsibilities for National CEA and local Annual Professional Review consultant awards processing.
* To organise the monthly New Consultant Induction Programme, quarterly Consultant Refresher Day, CMO Away Days

* Degree or relevant professional experience.
* Management, quality or safety related qualification or relevant professional experience.

*Evidence of further development to postgraduate level or equivalent professional experience.

*Proven experience in a relevant NHS role e.g., revalidation & appraisal, HR, quality, safety, compliance, risk management or clinical governance.
*Extensive knowledge of GMC revalidation and appraisal requirements.

*Experience of managing a number of priorities and work streams to well defined timescales.
*Supervisory and/or line management experience.
*Experience of collaborative working with a range of individuals and organisations ideally in a healthcare setting.
*Highly developed understanding of the external regulatory requirements of Monitor, DH, CQC and other bodies which impact on quality and the Quality Accounts.
