Requirements
Full UK driving licence
Level 3 City and Guilds / IMIA / BTEC / NVQ / Edexel in Auto Electrical disciplines, Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance experience or similar
Hybrid vehicle knowledge would be a bonus, however not essential
Good working knowledge of the manufacture of vehicle wiring
Experience in an automotive environment is essential
Flexibility to work shift patterns, overtime, weekends to achieve production
Role and Responsibilities
To determine malfunction of electrical system by taking readings, using a laptop or hand-held device connected to an engine’s electronic control unit
Using readings to find faults
Determine malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection of vehicle / equipment and coordinate Re-testing the system to make sure everything is working correctly and safely
Logging all repairs either manually or on a digital data system, detailing the work done
Replace faulty alternators, generators, starter motors, and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries, and repair or replace faulty ignition systems, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches
Dynamic, varied role in a state of the art facility
Regular weekend work
Able to work in a dynamic environment with compliance to Health & Safety at all times
