41Job Description:CK Group are working in partnership with Nxera Pharma UK Limited (formerly Sosei Heptares) to recruit an Associate Director, Quantitative Systems Biology, Translational Medicine based in Granta Park, Cambridge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Associate Director, Quantitative Systems Biology, Translational Medicine you will be responsible for leading efforts to embed Quantitative Systems Pharmacology strategies to Nxera programs to aid in drug discovery decisions including target prioritisation, biomarker characterisation and early clinical trial design.
Key duties will include:
- Development and assessment the functionality, feasibility, efficiency and validity of new QSP models.
- Extensive internal/external cross-functional collaboration to develop and apply QSP models across a portfolio of therapeutic compounds.
- Through leveraging your expertise, you will help guide and shape the way in which QSP led approaches are applied to address drug discovery and development questions.
- You will be responsible for embedding QSP strategy as part of the project translational plans and demonstrate its utility in supporting clear decision making through to early clinical trials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
As Associate Director, Quantitative Systems Biology, Translational Medicine you will require:
- PhD or equivalent in relevant field including Engineering, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Pharmacometrics, Systems Biology/Pharmacology.
- Extensive industry-based experience of developing and applying QSP/Systems Biology models.
- A strong understanding of the theory, principles and statistical aspects of advanced mathematical modeling and simulation.
- Proven ability to competently use modeling software(s) such as Matlab/SimBiology and programming / data analytical skills using languages such as Python or R.
- Ideally, an extensive network of experts across QSP and/or Systems Pharmacology with hands-on experience in managing outsourced studies with CROs or academic partners.
- Good understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and application of Translational pillars in Drug Discovery and development.
