Sheridan Maine is assisting a leading business in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the Management Accounting team and have opportunities for career growth and development. The position offers a hybrid working pattern with one day working from home and four days in the office near Dorchester. Key responsibilities include assisting with monthly group reporting, generating cost centre reviews, and managing profit and loss statements. The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills, be proactive and confident, and have excellent attention to detail.

Sheridan Maine are delighted to be working with a leading business, who are in search of a pro-active Assistant Management Accountant to play an critical role in their Management Accounting team. This is a permanent position which offers a hybrid working pattern – 1 day WFH and 4 days in the office which is based near Dorchester.
Key responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly group reporting.
- Generating monthly cost centre reviews, budget versus actuals versus forecast.
- Accurately compiling substantial amounts of data to provide meaningful commentary and explanations for variations from budget.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Allocating cash receipts.
- Verifying and processing expenses.
- Managing profit and loss statements.
- Offering ad-hoc analysis and internal reporting for the senior finance team.
The successful Assistant Management Accountant will require the following qualifications and experience:
- Strong IT skills including intermediate Excel knowledge.
- Proactive and confident attitude with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
