Smile Education are looking for Secondary School Academic mentors across a range of disciplines including English, Maths and Science as well as more creative subjects such as Drama and Music. This opportunity enables graduates to gain experience in a range of classrooms and immerse yourself in school life.

Smile Education are working with an exclusive client based in Cannock who have unique opportunities for university graduates to gain experience in a range of classrooms as a Graduate Academic Mentor prior to applying for a PGCE. They are specifically looking for graduates with degrees relating to English, Science, and Maths, but will also consider degrees of other subjects.

The role is Monday-Friday, term time only working from 8:15am-3:30pm daily.

As a graduate, your role will include:

• Making full use of the training materials.
• Working closely with the class teachers, gaining an insight into the planning and preparation of lessons.
• Offering 1:1 support with children who have barriers to learning.
• Creating extra academic support sessions to small groups of children.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• Hold a relevant UK degree

• Willingness to support teachers in every area of the curriculum

• Enthusiasm and openness to learning new skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
