Early Career Planning

Support During the Early Stages of Your Career

Early career planning can help if you’ve been working for a few years but feel that your career is not going in the direction you want.   Are you feeling unfulfilled or unsettled at work?

You probably realise that there are parts of the job you enjoy and aspects of the organisation that you like.  However, you have a sense that you are not really playing to your strengths or working in the right environment. Your know there has to be something better out there for you.  But you can’t seem to find it.

From time to time, you’ll see jobs that you think you’d be great at. But you believe that you simply don’t have the experience to secure an interview. You probably have a sense of what you’re good at and what you enjoy most at work.  But you’re not sure how this translates into real career opportunities.

Early career planning can help you get back onto the career track you’ve always wanted.  It won’t give you those niggling feelings that you are going in the wrong direction.

This is where CareerBalance can help you.

We have fifteen years of helping people in the early stages of their careers. This means that we have detailed knowledge of many employers and sectors and the career opportunities available to you.

We keep an eye out for suitable jobs and we’ll alert you to those we think will most appeal to you.

We’ll also advise you on how best to approach the job market.

After this initial coaching and guidance session, we’ll send you a brief proposal that explains what further support we can offer you.

Interview Coaching, Job Offers and Salary Negotiations

Interview Coaching

Marketing your skills is an area that you might find challenging. We’ll provide you with tips to enhance your CV and LinkedIn profile. We’ll coach you to polish your networking pitch so that you can quickly and effectively explain what you have to offer and the kind of career opportunities you are seeking.

Salary Negotiation

Negotiating your salary package can be tricky, and it is easy to undersell yourself. You may believe that you’ll need to take a drop in salary to move to a different kind of role or sector. Often this is not true. Many jobs are now advertised with no mention of salary, so it’s important to know what your worth, and what the job is worth before you go for interviews. Our career coaches will help you here.

By keeping a close eye on the job market, we maintain a clear picture of the salaries available for particular types of jobs across different sectors.  Our insight means that we can advise you on the kind of salary you can achieve as well as the benefits you can obtain. This can include pension, health cover, life insurance and share options. With this information, you’ll be in a much stronger position to negotiate the right salary package.
