30Job Description:Smile Education are delighted to be working alongside a thriving primary school based in south Birmingham. We are currently seeking a Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join the team from September 2024.
We are currently seeking a Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join this vibrant team from September 2024 until the end of the academic year. The successful applicant will be supporting on a whole class basis, ensuring pupils are on task and able to access lesson content. There will be some elements of small group work to help pupils performing below ARE access curriculum. There will also be small group work to help the most academically able pupils access more advanced concepts.
This is a fantastic role to be a part of a dedicated team within a thriving primary setting. The school is located in south Birmingham, within proximity to Sparkhill, Acocks Green, Hall Green and Birmingham City Centre. The expected salary range for this role is between £80-90 per day, depending on experience.
What to expect from applicants?
We would like applicants to hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, for example Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning. Applicants should be confident in working in upper key stage 2, and should feel confident in providing small group work, including intervention style group work.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, such as Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Available for work full-time, Monday- Friday
  • Confident in supporting pupils in upper KS2, including pupils performing significantly below ARE and pupils who are most academically able
