Financial Accountant – Hospitality Group – London, up to £65k!
I’m delighted to be working with one of the leading Hospitality businesses. A leader in its specialist product, it prides itself on being unconventional and aims to disrupt the traditional market.
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be essential in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of their financial records. The ideal candidate will possess a robust accounting background and excellent analytical skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting the budgeting process for the Group and consolidation of budgets for the subsidiary companies.
- Prepare the quarterly Investor Report which goes to all shareholders and is a snapshot of quarterly performance.
- Regular updating of the company’s forecast model which is used to raise equity. This would involve working closely with the Finance Director and Co-Founders.
- Help coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process for central companies, with the preparation of the consolidated budget
- Manage the Finance Coordinator to ensure invoices are processed and the bank reconciled for timely monthly reporting. This would require providing cover for payroll if the Finance Coordinator is absent.
- Review of all central management accounts
- Support the preparation of central and consolidated forecasts
- Co-ordinate the preparation of Group board presentations
- Monitor cash flow, prepare weekly cash forecasts, and manage working capital.
- Review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Liaise with external accountants in the preparation of corporation tax returns, R&D tax relief and capital allowances and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns in our accounting system and determine VAT rates on new products.
- Responsible for compliance with payroll taxes, including review monthly P32 submissions and preparing annual P11Ds.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Big 4 trained preferred but not essential.
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible in approach – understanding of a group function.
