Support Worker

Bradford (Birkenshaw area)

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Sleep in: £80 per sleep

Holidays: 33 days per year (pro rata)

Full driving licence and car required for this role

We work with an amazing gentleman who lives independently in the community in his own tenancy.

We provide one to one care 24/7 with the overnights been Sleepovers D is a gentleman with a learning disability and he is also non-verbal.

D attends events and loves been out and about and enjoying drives in the car, he is a sociable gentleman and loves spending time with his family

To support D, you will ideally have a background in providing support to people who may be autistic and need positive reassurance and encouragement.

You must also be comfortable in providing personal care as D needs assistance and support with personal care needs from a skills and personality perspective, ideal candidates would be able to be happy with the following key areas –

  • Be happy to undertake activities.
  • Be happy to work within an individual’s home independently
  •  Be happy to undertake Sleep Overs
  •  Be able to work on your own initiative.
  • Be able to create a calm and positive environment.
  • Be able to drive – car drivers are important due to the location and also to provide transport as needed (mileage will be paid)

We have an existing team of three people and we are looking to add an additional person, a roster is in place and is based on people working full days and sleepovers, and looking to complete contracted hours in blocks, therefore working 2/3 days a week on a rotational basis, which would mean a one in three weekend approach, but there is some flexibility in this.

 

The refer a friend scheme is worth £200 in total. This is split £100 after the person has worked 100 hours and then another £100 when they have passed probation (6 months usually).
