111Job Description:Are you looking to join a company embarking on an innovative turnaround plan and ready to play an important role within the Insurance division?
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Claims & Litigation Manager, who will provide strategic advice and support for insurance & claims related matters, working to assist the company in identifying ways to reduce claim numbers and average values. Reporting to the Head of Insurance you will work to ensure provision of an efficient and effective insurance claims service, both internally and via external suppliers.
What you will be doing as Insurance Claims & Litigation Manager
- Lead and review the effectiveness of the overall claims process, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to process.
- Set the standard for internal colleagues to use systems, and all other available information, to clarify facts and establish a full and accurate understanding of the claim and provide training where necessary.
- Prepare, with the appropriate legal advisors, a statement to support Thames Water’s position with a view to appearing as a witness in Court, and to signing Defences where required.
- Manage relationships with claims service providers and other stakeholders, monitoring performance, setting and monitoring KPIs, and undertaking quarterly reviews as required.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to collate information and documentary evidence to support the defence of insurance related claims where appropriate.
- Provide support to the Head of Insurance with the collation of exposure information and response to insurance related questions.
What you should bring to the role
Essential:
- Extensive relevant insurance experience supporting insurance and risk management programmes in an organisation.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, as well as excellent presentation skills.
- Able to operate effectively in an agile way in the context of changing priorities of the wider team and the business.
- Experience in delivering risk and insurance reports and analysis.
- Demonstrable experience inbuilding and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver quality deliverables to tight deadlines.
- The ability to remain focused on the bigger picture.
Desirable:
- Insightful business awareness with the ability to understand and analyse changing business context in relation to risk and insurance.
- Experience in utility industry, regulated environment or FTSE250.
Qualification:
- A degree in Law or working towards a recognised professional qualification
