We are seeking talented and motivated pharmacist to join the Heartlands site within our Infectious Diseases team to help deliver a clinically focused and innovative pharmacy service. The role will also support the Birmingham Chest Clinic, which is one of the largest referral centers for TB in the UK. Main duties, tasks & skills required
To provide highly specialist clinical pharmacist input to the Infectious Diseases specialty.
You need to be motivated with good communication skills and a desire to use your knowledge, skills and experience to improve patient care and influence healthcare professionals in the best use of medicines.
You will support the management of patients with complex infections such as drug resistant tuberculosis, complex HIV and infections acquired during travel to tropical regions.
You will have a patient facing role supporting the specialty within Birmingham Chest Clinic monitoring and supporting patients with TB. You will be encouraged to undertake your NMP or if already achieved in another area develop your knowledge into this field.
There is also the opportunity to work with wider MDT and primary care in supporting outpatient management of antibiotics in the community and participate in virtual ward rounds. You will gain understanding and deliver Cost Improvement Programs to support the speciality and department as well being supported to deliver Quality Improvement Projects with the Infectious Diseases speciality.
Depending on experience and qualifications, there is an opportunity to develop from a senior support pharmacist (band 7) into a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (band 8a) or start at this level. Through a structured development program, set criteria is used to ensure you are supported and achieve key skills and knowledge before moving into the specialist role.

Qualifications
Essential
*4-year vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
*Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council
*Post-graduate clinical pharmacy qualification or equivalent experience
*Member of The General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable
*Working towards Level I Faculty Membership with the RPS
*Has completed a non-medical prescribing course and registered as an NMP with the GPhC
Experience
Essential
*Significant post-registration hospital pharmacy experience in clinical pharmacy services
*Previous participation in multi-disciplinary team
*Demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm for providing high quality pharmaceutical care
*Experience of teaching/presenting to other healthcare professionals/patients
*Commitment to own Continuing Professional Development
*Possesses relevant clinical knowledge in complex clinical pharmacy setting .
