Are you a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated Occupational Therapist willing to support with the leadership of the Health Care for Older People and Medical Therapy team at Good Hope Hospital? This is an exciting opportunity for a very experienced Band 6 OT or an existing Band 7 OT looking for a new challenge. There will be training opportunities to support with the development of your potential, coupled with on the job learning and support from both the team and the Clinical Team Leader. We are looking for a creative and dynamic team leader who can jointly lead, alongside a B7 Physiotherapist, a large team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Workers; supporting and maximizing interdisciplinary working to enable patients to achieve their therapy goals.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder is required to have experience and proficient skills within this clinical specialty, with an appreciation of illness/disease in relation to Older People/Frailty; providing targeted therapeutic interventions to this patient group. Delivering advanced occupational therapy assessment and treatment of patients and to act as a source of expertise to fellow clinicians, Trust managers, Healthcare Professionals, and other services as required.
The post encompasses both clinical and management tasks, this requires the candidate to be able to prioritise and manage their time effectively; coupled with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
The post holder will demonstrate their knowledge of the different roles of the staff within the team, including their scope of practice to be able to provide clear guidance, leadership, and supervision on a daily basis will be
The role will support the development of the Health Care for Older People/ Medical therapy team to provide therapy and facilitate timely discharge from hospital, by undertaking regular evidence-based audit and research projects.

Qualifications
Essential
*Good standard of general education including English language and mathematics, A levels or equivalent
*Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
*Registered with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist
*Evidence of relevant postgraduate training in specialist area
*Leadership training and implementation of skills taught
Desirable
*Postgraduate advanced accredited training within specialist area
*Registered Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Experience
Essential
*Relevant postgraduate experience in specialist areas relevant to the post
*Experience of effective staff management and leadership
*Experience of management of adults within a Healthcare of Older People and Medicine areas of practice
*Experience of students at clinical tutor and supervisor levels
*Experience of leading audit
*Experience of training staff groups at all levels
*Evidence of working effectively in partnership with others within multi-disciplinary teams and across agencies
Desirable
*Experience of conducting or being involved in audit, implementing outcome measures and/or research in the specialist area

*Able to meet the travel requirements of the position
