We are delighted to be searching for a Cyber Security Manager to join our expanding team. This is a new role to bolster our cyber security capabilities.
This is a hands-on role leading a small cyber security team to ensure the protection of our systems and information assets from cyber threats. As part of the Technology, Insight, and Change Directorate, you will collaborate with peers and the broader business to deliver an exceptional experience for colleagues and customers – really driving our Customer-Obsessed ethos!

What will you be doing?
You will develop and implement security architecture and technology solutions to meet cybersecurity and compliance needs. You will ensure new projects incorporate security and update infrastructure as necessary. This individual will review and enhance existing cybersecurity architecture, identifying gaps based on business strategy and threat landscape. You’ll identify security risks in business processes and recommend controls and be a great lead for a team of cybersecurity engineers managing operational security controls.
You’ll understand how to identify design gaps in architectures, recommending enhancements, and liaising with stakeholders for support and recommendations. We’ll need you to document security design decisions, ensure compliance with standards, and provide technical support for IT projects.
This role also involves acting as deputy Cyber Security Incident Response Lead, managing incident responses and maintaining technical playbooks. You’ll contribute to disaster recovery plans and security training, conduct risk assessments, and manage threat intelligence.
You’ll also have a knack for communicating technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.

Who are we looking for?

Working knowledge of security architecture methodologies such as SABSA
Relevant Information Security certification (e.g. CISM, CISSP, GIAC, CEH, CCSP) or willing to work towards
Practical experience of working in a cyber security role including the development and management of security controls including securing cloud services for a minimum of 5 years
Experience of security monitoring including use of a Security Operations Centre (SOC) and/or Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
Extensive knowledge of technical security controls including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), endpoint security, web filtering, email filtering and network security logging and monitoring
Experience of supporting secure infrastructure change through to business-as-usual operation, maintenance and support
Ability to provide security expertise, guidance and assurance to a complex change portfolio
Able to provide oversight of testing plans, recording of results and remediation recommendations
Experience of administering and supporting security technologies
A degree in a technical or cyber security-related subject would be a real bonus
