104Job Description:CK Group are recruiting for a Synthetic Organic Research & Development Scientist to join a chemistry company at their site based near Oxford on a full time, permanent basis.

Our client is an innovative chemistry company who work with partners to transform breakthrough ideas in materials research into new products for clean technology and transport. With over 20 years’ cutting-edge chemistry and materials research, they are experienced in bringing advanced materials to market. They now have an opportunity for an R&D Scientist with organic synthesis experience to join their dynamic team of scientists and commercial experts. A rapidly growing organisation, you will have the opportunity to drive the development of their R& D programs. The Research Scientist will work in a fast-paced team environment and this role would suit a pragmatic, enthusiastic scientist with excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.

The company offers a salary in the range of £38,000 – £48,000 depending on experience as well as pension, death in service benefit, income protection scheme and 25 days holiday.

The Synthetic Organic R&D Scientist will be based at the company’s site near Oxford.

Organic Synthesis Research Scientist Role:

Your main duties will be to:

  • Plan and execute research & development projects with a strong organic synthesis and crosslinker synthesis focus, and work on new product development.
  • Assist in customer trials for product demonstration and technology transfer to drive the creation of new customer relationships.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven industry experience outside of an academic environment working in the field of synthetic organic chemistry – essential, preferably in the field of materials or polymers.
  • Knowledge of polymer science with an understanding of the relationship between chemical structure and physical properties – essential.
  • Designing tests, writing reports, interpreting data, ^presenting findings to internal and external contacts – essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to conduct theoretical and experimental investigations – essential.
  • Experience in working with coatings, films, resins, or dispersions – desirable.
  • Experience in working with customers and conducting product demonstration or manufacturing trials – desirable.
