Job Title: Social Worker
Children and Adults, Preparation for Adulthood
Location: Central Dorset (Hybrid, one day a week at County Hall)
Payrate: £19.35 per hour
Grade: Level 2 Social Worker, Grade 10
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Requirements:
- Education: Social Work degree
- Certification: Fully qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration
- Experience: Recent Care Act assessment experience, particularly with transitions/preparation for adulthood
- Skills Strong analytical and decision-making skills, Strengths-based approach, Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge: Preparation for adulthood and early Care Act assessments
- DBS Check: Enhanced DBS for both children and adults
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team in Dorset, focusing on children and adults with an emphasis on preparation for adulthood. This role supports young people aged 14-25 as they transition into adulthood, ensuring their care needs are thoroughly assessed and met according to the Care Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive Care Act assessments for young people aged 14-25
- Utilize a strengths-based approach to support and empower individuals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Provide support and guidance to young people and their families
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals
- Work one day a week at County Hall, with the remainder of the week operating on a hybrid basis
Ideal Candidate:
- Fully qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England (SWE)
- Recent experience in conducting Care Act assessments
- Can-do attitude with the ability to make informed decisions
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically
- Experience with either children or adults, particularly in transition and preparation for adulthood
- Adept at building relationships and communicating effectively
- Committed to continuous professional development
