*JOB DESCRIPTION: Functions & Events Duty Manager*
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Functions & Events Manager at The Mayfield, Seamer. The vacancy is ideal for someone with a events-based qualification or someone currently in a similar role and looking for their next step up. As Functions & Event Manager, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating events ranging from birthday parties, company functions and gala evenings.

Five Star Collection Limited is owned by husband-and wife entrepreneurs, Nick and Sandra Thomas. Five Star Collection is an eclectic and expanding group of boutique hotels, 5* holiday cottages and eating & drinking destinations.
*The Role*
* To meet overall business targets, in collaboration with the General Manager, development of the vision and key strategies for the venue.
* Support leading the Front of House team by adopting a hands-on approach and being visible with on the floor presence.
* Be involved with the periodic and annual planning of budgets events.
* Being responsible for ensuring staff perform to the standards expected for a high customer service standard while ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained in all areas of responsibility.
* Supporting all Food & Beverage co-workers, including training and developing individuals within the team. To bring the best out of them and to develop a team that is well cared for and hard working.
* Ensure operational areas are properly prepared for all functions each day.
*The Ideal Candidate*
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about events and planning, has excellent leadership skills and can develop a hardworking and happy team that will provide the high level of hospitality in line with company standards. You should be ambitious, hard-working and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines. The role requires a positive, proactive and confident individual who is imaginative and able to work on their initiative.

* Excellent communication & delegation skills between front of house & kitchen
* Positive outlook & role model
* Strong Leadership and organisational skills
* Keen attention to detail
* Good ability to work well under pressure ensuring deadlines are met
* Knowledge of food, beverage & events service.
*Preferable*
* Stock and cellar management experience desired but not essential
* Experience in running functions/events at an events venue

The job will be based at the Mayfield, Seamer. Based on a regular shift pattern.
