A complex care support worker position is available between Rastrick and Cleveleys, offering a salary of £12.50. Previous experience in a similar role or relevant healthcare setting is preferred, along with knowledge of the specific conditions. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Complex Care Support Worker
Location: Between Rastrick and Cleveleys
Salary: £12.50

We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Support Worker to provide personalized care and assistance to an adult male with a learning disability, neurological migration disorder, left-sided hemiplegia, epilepsy, challenging behavior, and who is registered blind. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in improving the individual’s quality of life, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personalized Care:
- Provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Adapt support techniques to accommodate the individual’s specific needs arising from left-sided hemiplegia and blindness.
- Epilepsy Management:
- Implement and monitor seizure management protocols in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Remain vigilant to signs of seizures and provide timely assistance and support.
- Behavioural Support:
- Understand and manage challenging behaviours in a patient and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement behavioural support plans.
- Mobility Assistance:
- Support the individual in overcoming physical challenges associated with left-sided hemiplegia.
- Facilitate safe transfers and positioning to ensure comfort and prevent complications.
- Communication and Sensory Support:
- Adapt communication methods to accommodate the individual’s visual impairment.
- Utilize alternative communication tools and techniques to facilitate effective interaction.
- Emotional Well-being:
- Foster a positive and supportive environment to enhance emotional well-being.
- Develop a strong rapport to understand and respond to the individual’s emotional needs.
- Healthcare Collaboration:
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, including therapists and specialists, to provide comprehensive care.
- Attend medical appointments and provide accurate information about the individual’s condition and progress.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care activities and behavioral observations.
- Communicate effectively with the care team and provide regular updates on the individual’s progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role or relevant healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, neurological disorders, epilepsy, and challenging behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.
- Empathetic and person-centered approach to care.
Working Hours: The position will require flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure comprehensive care coverage.

The refer a friend scheme is worth £200 in total. This is split £100 after the person has worked 100 hours and then another £100 when they have passed probation (6 months usually).
