111Job Description:Thames Water have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the team within Developer Services Major Projects.
What you will be doing as the Project Manager.
As the Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver a range of water and wastewater projects, valued from £150,000 to over £5 million. You will manage projects from conception to handover, developing solutions for high-profile customers and Thames Water-led schemes. Your responsibilities include ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. You will collaborate with internal and external experts, plan and execute projects, and manage stakeholders effectively, including presenting to senior stakeholders..
In addition, you will undertake the following key accountabilities:
- Manage a challenging, complex project portfolio across the London region.
- Define project scope, plans and budgets that will successfully deliver the project and business outcomes and objectives.
- Identify, engage and manage direct and indirect stakeholders appropriately in the context of each project.
- Establish regular project review meetings covering cost, delivery programme, RAID and RAG statuses, escalating where appropriate.
- Lead a Health, Safety and Environmental performance culture, not limited to conducting H&S audits.
- Provide updates and produce regular project reports including financial status; actuals, accruals and forecasted costs.
- Follow agreed governance standards, including stage gate reviews, across each project’s lifecycle.
What you should bring to the role:
- Be an analytical thinker with the ability to understand a problem by breaking it down into smaller parts and identify the key issues and solutions.
- Have a commercial awareness with a concern for the bottom line and focus on delivering the results which will enhance the overall profitability/performance of the business.
- Use your leadership skills to develop a sense of unity and purpose across diverse project teams and the business, to influence others and direct them towards achieving the defined objectives without reliance on authority or position.
- Draw on your project management skills to understand the bigger picture and wider context of the project; draw information from various sources and engage the right subject matter experts to put a plan in place to deliver projects within the programme, scope and budgetary constraints.
- Identify and address the risks attached to projects and the business and build action plans to manage and mitigate them.
- Think outside the box and able to challenge pre -existing assumptions and procedures. Thinks ahead, adding value not only for the customer within the project context but also innovating for the future.
