Are you a psychology graduate with a keen interest in special educational needs?
 
Would you like to gain experience before starting an educational or clinical psychology course in the near future?
 
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As an integral member of our inclusive environment, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to children with Autism, ADHD, and EBD.
 
*** SEN Teaching Assistant
*** Immediate start, until July 2024
*** £300 – £400 per week
*** Mainstream primary school in Solihull
*** Autism, ADHD and EBD support to primary age children
 
We are a dedicated and inclusive school located in the vibrant community of Solihull. Committed to providing a nurturing learning environment, we take pride in supporting children with diverse learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
 
Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one support and small group interventions, tailored to the specific needs of each child.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages social interaction, emotional regulation, and academic progress.
  • Utilise effective strategies to help children manage their emotions, behaviour, and sensory sensitivities.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best possible support for each child.

 
Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, and EBD in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions, including behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
