A property services contractor in Redruth is seeking an Estimator to join their team. The contractor offers a range of facilities management services on projects ranging from £50k to £50m. The role would be suitable for a Quantity Surveyor with estimating experience. Responsibilities include monitoring tender portals, evaluating tender enquiries, obtaining pricing, assessing business risk, and managing the bid process. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in a similar position, awareness of JCT and NEC contracts, a construction related qualification, and a relevant driving licence.
Job Description:Estimator – Redruth
A fantastic permanent opportunity awaits for an Estimator to join a local property services contractor! This estimating position would suit a Quantity Surveyor who has estimating experience.
Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor tender portals for relevant projects and establish contact
Review and evaluate all tender enquiries for completeness and accuracy - Administrate correspondence and tender documentation throughout the supply chain
- Organise and attend site visits with suppliers and subcontractors
- Obtain pricing in a timely manner to meet with submission deadlines
- Review and evaluate all project costs and provide a complete price submission
- Assess the levels of business risk on each project
- Compile and provide detailed handover information for all successful bids to the operations team
- Monitor the various stages of all successful bids to ensure costs are kept in line with the forecast
- Co-ordinate and manage the bid process from start to finish
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar position
- JCT and NEC contract awareness
- Construction related qualification
- Relevant driving licence
