So…. What is this role exactly?
This is a truly unique and exciting opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in internal control or risk to come and join a high performing Risk & Assurance team as our Risk & Assurance Manager.
Following some positive internal changes due to promotion, it’s a really exciting time to join the team and directly report into and support the Director of Risk, Assurance and Improvement, as we further strengthen and continue to evolve our highly collaborative and established risk and assurance function within the Group.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced auditor or risk practitioner who may have worked in the private sector previously and is looking to move into the housing sector to truly make a difference to the lives of others.
To succeed in this role you will have incredibly high standards, be a great manager and be a true advocate for working with others in a collaborative yet objective way.
What will my working week look like?
You will be home-based, ideally living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, as you will need to attend meetings and training courses when needed. You’ll be required to visit our Head Office approximately 1 -2 times a week.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Groups outsourced internal audit plan and leading the wider risk an assurance team to deliver on first- and second-line assurance activity. You will also lead and manage the Insurance team, ensuring that the Group manages its insurance risks appropriately and in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for the Group Business Continuity arrangements and testing.
One of the great things about this role is the variety! No two days will be the same and you will have the opportunity to work and advise a wide range of stakeholders throughout the Group.

A relevant internal audit, risk or accountancy qualification (IIA, IRM, ACA)
Knowledge or experience of insurance risk management
Knowledge or experience of Business Continuity practices
Experience of internal audit or internal controls assurance
Ideally you will be a
Confident and collaborative team player
Inspirational, experienced manager that can lead a team an inspire others.
Experienced and confident in advising, presenting and providing detailed reporting to senior stakeholders.
This role is really suited to someone who also understands the Three Lines of Defence (3LoD), likes to have the autonomy to get things done and can encourage and inspire others to do the same!
