Support Worker – Supported Living Service

Location: Bristol

Salary: £16 per hour

We’re currently forming a team to assist three residents in our newly upgraded supported living service, focusing on community support. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team of support workers. For this position, a background in care and support is necessary. We’re looking for individuals who can work independently, bring a friendly demeanour, and handle challenging situations. Our support extends to individuals with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, Huntington’s disease, Down’s syndrome, autism, and challenging behaviours.

Support will be provided 24/7 with staff ratios of one-to-one and two-to-one. Therefore, we’re seeking individuals who can contribute to our team on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Person-Centred Support: Provide empathetic and person-centred support tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals in the service.

  • Challenging Behaviour Management: Effectively manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner, promoting a safe and supportive environment.

  • Mental Health Support: Work closely with individuals facing mental health challenges, offering emotional support, and assisting in accessing appropriate mental health services.

  • Learning Difficulties Support: Help individuals with learning difficulties in daily activities, fostering independence and promoting skill development.

  • Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies, to ensure a holistic and integrated support plan.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided, incidents, and individual progress. Generate reports as required.

  • Promoting Independence: Encourage and enable individuals to develop and maintain their independence, making choices about their lives and participating in community activities.

  • A full UK driving license and access to a car is essential for the role.

The refer a friend scheme is worth £200 in total. This is split £100 after the person has worked 100 hours and then another £100 when they have passed probation (6 months usually).
