Personal Support Worker
Are you a caring and empathetic individual passionate about making a positive impact on others’ lives? We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to support a young woman with cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, lymphedema, and occasionally struggles with depression and anxiety. This role provides an opportunity to not only assist with daily care needs but also contribute to her emotional well-being through genuine companionship and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:
- Driving Assistance: Skilfully operate a manual minibus with wheelchair access for transportation.
- Companionship: Foster a positive environment by offering emotional support and understanding.
- Community Connection: Facilitate access to the community for enjoyable activities that promote mental well-being.
- Diverse Recreational Activities: Facilitate engagement in a variety of activities, including accessible sports like football or cycling, swimming, visiting new places or attending the theatre.
- Mental Health Support: Be attuned to the client’s needs, offering support during times of depression and anxiety.
- Personal Care: Provide thoughtful assistance with personal care routines, including hair washing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
- Mealtime Support: Collaborate in meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Medication Assistance: Administer prescribed medication with care and attention.
- Mobility Support: Help with mobility challenges, including wheelchair use and hoisting.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with proficiency in driving a manual minibus with wheelchair access.
- Previous experience in providing compassionate care, with a focus on mental health support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to engage in accessible sports and activities for mental and physical well-being.

The refer a friend scheme is worth £200 in total. This is split £100 after the person has worked 100 hours and then another £100 when they have passed probation (6 months usually).
