121Job Description:Are you a data-driven leader with a passion for forecasting and portfolio performance?Do you have experience in leading a team to deliver accurate and insightful analysis and reporting for household customers in the water or utility sector? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Income department as a Senior Manager – Income Assurance.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Manager – Income Assurance
In this role, you will be responsible for the forecast accuracy from revenue, billing, cash and debt for household customers along with portfolio performance reporting. You will also have the chance to work in a newly formed team, with exposure to senior stakeholders and a variety of projects.

  • Led forecasting and portfolio performance reporting and insight into the revenue, billing, cash and debt value stream.
  • Delivery of an end-to-end way of working that enables forecasting accuracy and further builds business and stakeholder confidence.
  • Leading a team to deliver high-quality inputs and outputs to the business, exec and board.
  • Working with large data sets drawn from a wide variety of internal and external sources including macroeconomic, portfolio and operational data.
  • Design and interrogation of databases; carrying out data transformations and liaising with the business to improve our ways of working.
  • Supporting the business and working with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a range of visualisation dashboards and reports, managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Supporting and collaborating with colleagues to further our objectives, skills and capabilities.
  • Proactively identifying insights and trends from data sets using statistical methods and modelling.
  • Maintaining data quality, identifying data quality improvements, and ensuring data is secure and properly utilised in line with the GDPR.
  • Mentoring other team members, promoting cross-training and efficiency.
  • Bridge the gap between the business and data, using analytical thinking to solve business problems to generate value, presented through clear presentations and insight.

Base Location –Walnut Court, Swindon/ Hybrid
Working Hours 36 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role

  • Team ManagementExperience of management or mentoring team members and track record of delivery through teams.
  • Presentation skills- Able to present and articulate complex information engagingly to different audiences, with a keen attention to detail with highly effective organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Stakeholder managementAbility to collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including senior leadership with some Exec exposure too.
  • Data AnalysisEssential to have experience and knowledge of working with databases, data analysis, and reporting or an in-depth understanding of operational data sets with a proven track record of quickly adapting to technical challenges.
  • Ability to learn new tools and techniques quicklyAn appetite to stay up to date and adapt to new technologies.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerQuery, SQL and PowerBI.
  • Knowledge and experience of Python or other statistical languagesexperience in applying statistical models to inform data-led decisions.
  • Personable with excellent communication – relationship-building relations across all levels of the business.

Desirable experience

  • Knowledge of building data pipelines – Working in Azure data factory would be an advantage.
  • A degree or equivalent within an analytical or substantial work experience in a similar type of role.
