Salary: £40k – £45k DOE
Overtime Available 1.5
Shift Days
Monday – Thursday 7:45 till 4:30 – Friday 7:45am till 12:45pm

We are recruiting a Manufacturing/Production Engineer for a highly reputable business in Oldham. Responsible for supporting production throughout the business. Developing and improving methods for new and existing products so they can be manufactured more efficiently, as well as developing new processes that can be used to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance our product offering.

Job description.

⦁ Working with the production teams to develop cost effective solutions for NPI & current products that meet the requirements of the design and quality standards.
⦁ Use ‘Design for Manufacture’ principles to ensure components & products can be made effectively.
⦁ Working with the Design & Production teams to identify and produce tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges required to support manufacturing.
⦁ Investigate production processes to improve efficiencies and reduce material cost in new and current products.
⦁ Research & develop new technologies to enhance our manufacturing capabilities and product offering and pull together information related to associated capex cases.
⦁ Creating specials & prototypes to support the NPI process.
⦁ Management & control of 3D printing machine & processes.
⦁ Responsibility for development of the CAM system & rollout.
⦁ Involvement in tooling specification & management for CNC machines.

Who can do this?
⦁ Able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
⦁ Good ability to use CAD and CAM packages.
⦁ Ability to be able to create new programs via Cad/cam software.
⦁ Have a good understanding or machining & production process/systems and lean manufacturing methods.
⦁ Have a technical mind to help understand the product range.
⦁ Methodical approach with good attention to detail essential
⦁ Possess good communications skills.
⦁ Be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages with good Excel knowledge.
⦁ Good knowledge of tools, equipment, and processes for product manufacture/assembly
⦁ Able to put ideas across in clear and concise manner in written and verbal form.
⦁ Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines and get others to do the same.
⦁ Ability to work as part of the wider business team.
⦁ A good attitude, flexible to challenges and possible changes is essential.
