Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

About the role

“My team has the responsibility for maintaining key building assets to the highest of standards and to ensure that all maintenance activities are delivered in a safe manner. Our people are highly skilled and experienced maintenance professionals working on a variety of complex assets.
Your role will be pivotal to the delivery of maintenance activities across our buildings. Attention to detail is key to ensure we are compliant with company and statutory regulations. I would welcome a well organised processed driven team member, who can work well within the department and work with other functions across the site.”
Key Deliverables
The role is required to hold numerous authorisations, e.g., Authorised Person-Electrical, Maintenance Supervisor, Task Supervisor, First Aider, etc.
Oversee delivery of maintenance/FM contracts in line with contract specification,
Plan, monitor and deliver planned maintenance, corrective remedial action, and minor projects to company and regulatory standards,
Supervision of staff and contractors,
Produce, check and/or review of Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Work Instructions, Permits etc.),
Ensure operations are carried out by competent persons who have been properly inducted and trained,
Provide technical support within own area of specialism.
Ensure delivery of maintenance strategy and plan for all scheduled and unplanned maintenance
Ensure all maintenance related records, documents and drawings are updated and controlled
Qualifications and Experience
Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent – essential
Working knowledge of maintaining significant plant and equipment – essential
Working knowledge of working to engineering and safety standards – essential

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.
There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
