The role
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will oversee the engineering team to enhance and sustain the availability of fleet and operational equipment, ensuring alignment with London Fire Brigade’s (LFB’s) operational needs and Babcock’s contractual obligations.
Day-to-day, you’ll focus on both in-build maintenance and modification requirements, while collaborating with the Asset Replacement team to integrate new assets in accordance with customer requirements. You’ll also:
Provide leadership, direction and management of the function
Ensure that engineering maintenance and inspection standards, monitor compliance and feedback learning points to all stakeholders.
Providing technical engineering support and guidance
Technical responsibility for the specification of the Customer Assets and
Ensure compliance with legislation at all times whilst building a proactive culture of continuous improvement and development
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Ruislip.
Essential experience of the Engineering Manager:
Previous experience in driving improvements in customer assets
Experience of leading a team and being the responsible person
In a previous role would have created a continuous improvement ethos to prevent defect re-occurrence which may result in modification
Vehicle and operational equipment technical specification development experience
Modelling and forecasting equipment maintenance
Qualifications for the Engineering Manager:
Professional engineering qualification
Chartered Engineer or working towards completion
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Clearance (SC) security clearance for this role.
