Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Smile Education is proud to represent an Academy Trust with schools in Wolverhampton and Tamworth. We are seeking experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to support students with a diverse range of needs, including SEMH, ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, Physical Disabilities, and sensory needs. Due to the growing student numbers, we are recruiting Teaching Assistants on both a full-time and part-time basis to join the settings within the Academy Trust.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and 2:1 support to students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Utilise your experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Collaborate with the school community, fostering strong parent relationships to ensure the holistic development of each student.
- Work collaboratively with the school staff as part of a cohesive and supportive team.
- Deliver lessons/activities to the pupils.
- Keep track of their achievements and assist the class teachers on developing further lessons and activities around the students needs and abilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care, Teaching Assistant, or equivalent.
- Recent experience supporting students with SEND in a similar role is essential.
- Able to commit to the role long term and for consistency for the students.
- Have a sound knowledge and understanding of SEND and what is expected of you as a Teaching Assistant.
- Confident supporting students on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis.
- Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 references covering the past two years.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one.
- Additional qualifications for example Team Teach, MAPA are desired but not essential.
- Able to work on your own initiative

- Between the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
