Smile Education is seeking a dedicated Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to pupils at one of our partner schools in Redditch. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced individual to contribute to the academic and personal development of students with SEN.

Role Overview: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs. From assisting with academic tasks to promoting social and emotional development, your role will be instrumental in helping the student thrive in the educational setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to a student with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist with academic activities, including reading, writing, and mathematics, to reinforce learning objectives.
• Implement personalised strategies and interventions to support the student’s progress and attainment.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student’s confidence and self-esteem.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to ensure the student’s needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with students with SEN is essential.
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student and the school environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
