36Job Description:We are seeking a Technical Coordinator to play a key role as part of a team ensuring that some of our largest and historic Victorian pumping stations are operational and maintained to the correct standard.

You will be responsible for ensuring the materials required to maintain the plant are available for the maintenance team to complete tasks, by specifying and ordering materials. Management and organisation of contractors to carry out repairs and fault diagnosis on pumps and the supporting equipment. Reviewing maintenance activities for continuous improvement and compliance with asset standards.

This role will require a large focus on engagement and communication with key stakeholders to ensure all activities are planned effectively and efficiently. Be the lead person with specific activities within a designated area, including directing briefed projects and providing support on larger-scale projects.

What you’ll be doing as a Technical Coordinator

  • Co-ordinate briefed projects and activities, provide, and deliver reports, presentations and analysis of data as necessary. 
  • Support the department by liaising or attending meetings with key internal and external stakeholders, as required. 
  • You will need to develop safe systems of work for complex tasks including confined space activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of H&S are managed correctly, by completing authorisations, permits and site inspections.
  • The role will have a large focus on being site-based on the various construction sites and will require some attendance in the evenings, nights, and potential weekends.
  • To monitor and report on all aspects of the projects that you are directly accountable for, including H&S, finance, programme, risk, and opportunity. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures and external Regulations and best practices.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

What should you bring to the role?

  • Established relevant business or technical experience, possibly with a military, utilities, engineering or planning background.
  • Good communication skills and proactive approach.
  • Experience in managing Health and Safety.
  • Good understanding of customer expectations.
  • An awareness of business procedures and processes.
  • Ability to liaise at all levels and influence beyond the span of control.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of Confined Space access (Regulations).
  • Trunk Sewer network and Strategic pumping knowledge (Advantageous).
  • Driving Licence is required for this role.
