About the role
Within the beautiful Hampshire countryside sits the picturesque Leckford Estate. 4000 acres containing our Farm, Farmshop, Plant Nursery, award-winning Water Gardens, our holiday escapes; Leckford Abbas and Leckford Lodges & Camping and Longstock House. Offering accommodation and meeting/conference facilities to our senior leaders, the beautiful country house Longstock House used to be the home of our founder John Spedan Lewis, making this a unique and historically important place to visit and work.
- Pay Rate – £12.40 per hour
- Contract type – Permanent
- Location – Leckford Estate (Longstock House), you may be required to work multi-site across Leckford Abbas and Leckford Lodges and Camping.
- Hours – Full time position available. 37.5 hours per week, weekend working included
- Required – Mixture of food service and housekeeping will be involved in this role.
What can you expect in this role?
Working at Longstock house, you’ll be surrounded by a team of passionate and dedicated hospitality Partners to give our guests the best experience. As co-owners in the business, you’ll see this difference in the way your teammates and you approach your job and carry out your responsibilities.
Within this role, you’ll be preparing the dining room and setting the table for all meals required during a stay, followed by clearance and cleaning after each service and interacting with guests, sharing product knowledge on drinks and food as part of the service. Once service is finished, you’ll be assisting with washing up in the kitchen and operating the dishwasher and putting away items used within the kitchen and dining rooms.
There’ll also be opportunities to collaborate with other teams, such as assisting with housekeeping: stripping the rooms after guests’ departure, changing towels and linen. Remaking beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, and general cleaning throughout the house.
As we also offer conferencing and meeting facilities you’ll be required to prepare The Boardroom and other meeting rooms in accordance with specific requests.
Due to the way that the hospitality team operates there is also a requirement to assist across the estate (Leckford Abbas/ Leckford Lodges & Campsite) during particularly busy times.

What do you need?
Hospitality is an ever changing environment with a real focus on great customer service and providing an experience for our guests. This is achieved through each Partner being motivated, creative and great teamwork.
- Self-motivated/ Industrious
- Proficient in IT systems and able to use standard software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
- Proven experience of the hospitality industry
